- Answer Yes, the Dash Cam 45 has a microphone for recording audio. There is also a setting in the device's menu to turn audio recording on or off. -MH

QuestionThe display on the camera does not stay on very long while driving. Is the display monitor supposed to be visibly on while driving or is it designed to turn off after a certain amount of time? If it is designed to turn off, is the camera still recording?

- Answer The display is pre-set to turn off after a minute or so. The cam is still recording as long as the small red light is ON. There is an option in SETTINGS to keep the display ON all the time if you so desire.

- Answer Yes, this model includes a Display Timeout setting which will automatically dim the display of the device after a period of inactivity. The device will continue to record video even while the screen is dimmed (indicated by a red light), provided the microSD card remains in the device and the device remains powered on. - Answer Yes, the Parking mode monitors your car’s surroundings while your car is parked and the engine is not running. It automatically begins recording if and when motion is detected. (Requires Garmin parking mode cable, sold separately; professional installation recommended.) Thanks, James

- Answer The default setting is to automatically set the date and time from the GPS signal. Just turn the dashcam on when the vehicle is outside in the clear (no overhead obstructions) and the date and time will be automatically set within a few minutes after the dashcam receives a GPS signal and locates your position.

- Answer Depends on the size of your SD card and the resolution at which you record video. If you have the 4 GB card, and record at 1080p, it should hold about 48 minutes of video. I have a 64GB in mine and it should hold about 12.8 hours.

- Answer I've had the suction cup and it falls off. I love the magnet because the dashcam snaps in place while driving and easy to remove when it is stored in glove compartment.

- Answer This camera has very clear images/video. It will clearly display license plates up to about 150ft away. After that distance, it tends to get a little blurry but can still be visible. At about 300-350 ft, the plate gets hard to read.

- Answer Had same problem. Only solution I could do was to import all 1minute clips (as you know camera keeps recording even after display goes off) into "photos" file on my mac. Then go to "files" to "create a slideshow". You can then play back "slide-show" and all 1-minute clips will be merged together with just a barely noticeable pause after each 1-minute clip is played.

- Answer Yes. Here is how I usually do it: 1. Using an adapter, plug the memory card into your computer 2. Play the video using Wndows Media Player, full screen. Pause at the part you want. 3. Hit The Print Screen button on the keyboard. 4. Open Paint, click on Paste. 5. Use the outline tool to select the part of the picture you want. Click on Crop. 6. Save the picture normally. The resolution from a good dashcam will make a satisfactory still photo.

- Answer It holds very well. I'm a truck driver and I'm always delivering product to jobsites where it is very rough, bouncy dirt/gravel roads. My camera is firmly attached to the window and even video quality is crystal clear with no bouncing/vibrating in the videos.
