- Answer It 'loop's, if the meaning of loop is that it will delete older video as it records more that would exceed the capacity of the storage media.

QuestionI am a motorcycle rider and I take lots of trips is this a camera that you can mount on your bike and take on a trip sounds like a pretty cool camera let me know thanks

- Answer If you have 12 volts of clean power, and a place to mount the camera, I would assume that it would work. Realize that it is a magnetic mount, and might not survive the jostling of a motorcycle. There is a suction cup mount, Garmin part number 010-12530-05.

QuestionI am looking for a good camera for our upcoming Honeymoon roadtrip. Memories capturing not evidence gathering. Would this work well? Will it do a time lapse of the whole trip? 60 hours of driving in total.

- Answer You need a GoPro, or VIRB. This is NOT meant to record trips, just accidents.

- Answer It has a 'day colors', and 'night colors' mode. I would assume 'yes'. Check the manual and any videos from Garmin to make sure.

- Answer Is there night vision capabilities? NO very poor quality at night And face recognition? NO is a DASH CAM not a security camera And could I use this as a security/surveillance camera from my car when it’s parked at night? somewhat, if you get the hardwired kit you can use what is called park mode and it will record motion detected video

QuestionCan the Garmin Cam 45 Record while not plugged in? To expand: Is the purpose of the cord to just maintain the battery life (after fully charged you can unplug it) or does the cord need to be connected in order for the camera to record?

- Answer Garmin sells a "parking cable" which hardwires it to battery+, Accessory + and ground. Using this hardwired connection, the unit will record when parked if it senses motion or vibration. It saves before and after the trigger event. The battery will run the camera for about 30 minutes, but generally it must be plugged in or wired for normal use. The parking cord is about $40 extra and shuts down the camera if the car battery runs low.

- Answer I have this dash cam. The camera acts as the wireless hotspot and you have to set it to wireless sharing to retrieve videos off the device.

- Answer I have this dash cam. Crazy customers need more help than this camera can provide. But you could mount it to record inside the cabin and perhaps the customers will behave better. That being said, security cameras are everywhere this day but people are not intelligent enough to conduct their selves with appropriately.

- Answer I have this dash cam. I put a 64GB microSD in mine so I haven't filled it up yet in the nearly four weeks that I've been using it. The videos are saved in one minute chunks so I'm thinking it will just delete older videos to make space for new ones. I found this out from trying to save a trip video directly off the microSD. You must use the Garmin VIRB app to save videos from the dash cam.

- Answer If you have it plugged in to the provided cigarette lighter power cord, it should come on when you start your car or turn your key to accessory on position. Or, If the camera's internal battery is charged, press and hold the top button on the right side of the camera and the camera should turn on.

QuestionHi, how wide is the lens?

- Answer I believe it is a 140º lens and the video quality is excellent with little "fish eye" distortion. The dash cam comes with an 8 GB SD card but I bought a 64 GB SD card for greater storage capacity. I also purchased a 37 mm Circular Polaroid Filter (CPF) and a 28-37 mm adapter mount to fit over the lens ring to cut down on window glare.

- Answer The camera does not have a waterproof capability. For a waterproof camera you'll need a GoPro

- Answer Depends on how much you want to record before the camera starts deleting clips. The 4GB card supplied will record about 48 minutes before it has to start deleting the oldest clips to make room. I put a 64 GB micro SD card in mine the day before yesterday, and it hasn’t deleted any clips yet (I drive about 2 hours a day). So doing the math, a 64 GB card will hold approximately 13 hours of footage.
