Garmin sells a "parking cable" which hardwires it to battery+, Accessory + and ground. Using this hardwired connection, the unit will record when parked if it senses motion or vibration. It saves before and after the trigger event. The battery will run the camera for about 30 minutes, but generally it must be plugged in or wired for normal use. The parking cord is about $40 extra and shuts down the camera if the car battery runs low.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have this dash cam. It probably recorded on battery power for about 30 minutes. You will want to have the power cord plugged into a 12-volt plug/cigarette lighter plug.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, this device is designed to be powered with the vehicle power cable. However, the dash cam will record for up to one minute after power loss.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it will record less than a minute.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The unit will record for a short period (less than a minute) when you unplug it from power. With no power going to the unit and you turn it on, it will record for less than 30 minutes. It is not designed to run off the internal battery for over 10-15 minutes.
