• I bought mine in California and it came with the lower 49 states loaded. Probably need to get Canada from Garmin.

• Sorry I can't help you. The BB salesman claimed that they were. I never tried since I returned the unit for refund. In several days if use, it frequently became unresponsive with the message "recalculating." Other Garmin devices I've used in the past worked well without thus issue.

• I just downloaded the updated maps from Garmin.com and its labelled lower 48. I was not happy since my recent experience in Alaska was dreadful with this product, I have a question into their map department about getting Alaskan maps, you can write them about Canadian maps at, [email protected].
