“I tried to download a custom route and it tells me that it can only accept 29 via points, and divides the trip in 2. Why is that? My old Nuvi 1450 was accepting all via points at ones. Are we going backwards in technology?”

Good question. This model can hold up to 100 trips at a time with each trip limited to 30 waypoints/stops. If the number of waypoints you want on your route exceeds that device's limitation, it is recommended that you create a separate route or trip for each leg.
