• I've had no experience downloading additional data into the Garmin 52. All I know is, you can update the Garmin's current map data using an app loaded into a desktop or laptop computer. Adding anything extra is beyond my pay grade. You could check with customer support at the Garmin web site and they should have an answer for you. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

• No, unfortunately this model is not compatible with any type of TOPO or off-road maps. You may want to look at the new Garmin Overlander model. Overlander is the rugged, all-terrain navigator with on- and off-road navigation.
