“When I check the mileage from my Garman to my phone GPS there is 150 miles different. The phone GPS says 814 miles and the Garman tells me it’s 966 miles what is the problem”

The mileage shown on the GPS is the total distance to that location in a geographical straight line ("as the crow flies"). If you want to find out the total mileage for a route, press go and allow the GPS to calculate the route.
