“those the gps only charge when it's connected to the computer. I'm trying to charge the gps through a usb travel adapter to plug in the wall and it's giving me the message that the cable is not compatible.”

• This can be caused by different voltage outputs. We recommend charging using a computer, car charger cable, or Garmin travel adapter. ^DK

• GPS is very sensitive to the cable. Try using the cable that came with your unit that connects it to your computer for updates.

• plugs into cigaret outlet, may be dif voltage than you usb.
