• Be sure to get the cable designed for this particular GPS. Older cables won't work like the new one. You'll need to have it plugged in so that it can pick up satellite signals. When I bought my GPS, I purchased the cable at the same time and it was less expensive than if I'd purchased it separately.

• The DriveSmart 60LMT just needs to be connected to the vehicle power cord and turned on. The device comes with the maps pre-loaded. We do recommend downloading the Garmin Express program from our website to register the unit and update maps/software it might need. ~JH
