• It does not need blue tooth in auto. It uses the blue tooth from device and phone to answer calls.

• Does not need your auto blue tooth to work with but will need your phone blue tooth to synchronize for calls

• Does not depend on your car. Bluetooth works directly between your phone and this GPS.

• Your phone should pair with this GPS with not one problem. You do not have to have Bluetooth on your vehicle, because this system does just that for you and it does have voice command as well.

• You don't need it unless you want to pair with a smartphone or something. I use it for hands-free calling but the GPS works fine without it.
