“can i track where i go and save where i went ? like if i was riding quads thru the woods could i start the garmin before we take off and keep history of where i went so i can go back to where i was”

Yes you can, you can turn on tracking so you can retrace your path, and you can save multiple locations by touching the map screen for 2-3 seconds and click on save, then name the file and click save, you can save multiple locations, I have saved about 20 now on my gps.
