• You can use the Garmin DriveSmart 86 without a smart phone to navigate but you will lose out on many features such as being able to use the Alexa. With Alexa you can control your music and get information such as podcasts, news, weather, and much more. Smart phones are much cheaper nowadays. Smart phones are almost a necessity and actually easy to use. Go with a smart phone and get the most of your Garmin DriveSmart 86. Enjoy.
