In most situations, 2 MB of data per hour of active use with an automotive device is a reasonable estimate for data usage. For example, if the device is used 5 days a week on a 30-minute commute each way, the Garmin Drive App would use about 40 MB of data per month. Phones battery should display little to no impact.

Please try again later.Yes you both, but it comes with an adapter that powers up the unit and it also allows you to use a charge cable for your phone at the same time, this way your phone stays charging while you are using live traffic. It’s worth mentioning that if you do not need live traffic then you do not need to use your phone at all, the unit itself has maps in memory, just make sure they are up to date.
