Yes, you may choose walking as well as a lot of other activities. It will map out your walk for you on a google map style application available to view from your phone. I like to walk, and will often choose the hiking option for my walks, as this one will draw your course on the screen of the watch as well as mapping for your view on your phone. Hiking will also tell you elevation gain if you had any of that on your stroll. You can even manually enter a workout if you forgot to start it while exercising. The watch takes a while to figure out, but once you learn what each of the buttons do (long pressing, short pressing, etc) you will love the watch! It won't hurt to watch a youtube video on it.
