“Hey There, I'm considering purchasing this for my fella. He's a firefighter and rough on things in general. I doubt he'd wear a sweat band over it while on shift, has anyone had issues with scratches on the lens or breaking of straps and strap pins?”

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have both Fenix 3 and 5 models. The straps will eventually wear in time. The Garmin straps are pretty pricey, so I managed to find 3rd party straps online for much cheaper. What's great with the 5 is that the straps have the quick release tab so you don't have to unscrew the pins. Also, if you're worried about the pins unscrewing, you can apply "lock tight". As for the glass, it's pretty scratch resistant. The case will get scratches though. I found a bezel protector online for both models which sticks on and helps protect the watch from dings and scratches. Overall, I love my watch. I wear it 24/7, in the pool, at the gym, traveling, etc.
