• A:Answer No, you can sync your data with a computer using the Garmin Express program. You just don't have the ability to get the smart features, but the device will work without being paired to a phone. Debbie with Garmin

• A:Answer No, It doesn't offer any of those types of safety features. If does offer a Livetrack feature but you would need your phone with you in order for someone to Livetrack your activity.
