The Heart Rate Monitor will need to send its data to a compatible device. Once you have it on the device, you do not *need* to transfer it anywhere, you can look at it on the device. That being said. the device will need to receive software updates via smartphone or computer at some point in its life. Also, if you do not sync the data, eventually the device memory will get full which can cause issues with recording, etc. Thank you, \tw/
