Comfortable, Reliable Ant+ Heart Rate Chest Strap

I'm using this during my work-outs and it's been awesome knowing my heart rate in real time. If you set a goal to stay above a certain avg heart rate, then it's much easier to keep yourself on tract when working out solo. The connection is super reliable (I use a Note 8 along with the myWorkouts app). Highly recommend as long as your phone/app is Ant+ compatible (especially when it's on sale!)! It's also, hands down the most comfortable chest trap that I've tried.

A heart rate monitor strap NOT Bluetooth, ANT+

Works like a charm - much nicer than the old skool HRM straps that were mostly hard and uncomfortable. Got this for $50 - a no brainer purchase well worth the upgrade from their lower end strap/monitor. NOTE: this is NOT a Bluetooth device that can talk to your app on your phone. This is an ANT+ device that talks to other ANT+ receivers like the Garmin Vivoactive that I bought with this.

I have been using heart rate monitors for over 20 years, mostly Polar. I have watched the straps evolve, and this is as comfortable as I have worn. And rest assured, chest straps are still the gold standard, and I still haven't seen any other approach (wrist, etc) that have been proven to be as accurate. This strap is a great compliment to pretty much any of Garmin's fine GPS units or activity trackers. I bought it seperately because it was on sale and I am still deciding between the vivosmart and the watch. It will work with both, and it is nicer than the strap that you get when buying the package deal. It is worth checking the part numbers though, as this could change in the future, and I hope it does.

I got the Vivofit 2 for a gift so bought the heart rate monitor strap to go with it. First had an issue connecting to my vivofit through the Garmin App so I can add the heart rate monitor to the watch. This is more of a flaw with Garmin software than the actual strap. Once the vivofit re-synced to my samsung phone and added the heart rate tab, it connected automatically. The strap feels pretty comfortable but it did lose contact one or twice, may be due to adjusting the strap to fit better. I sometimes forget to wear it though, so while I read it's more accurate than fitness watches with HR, it is trade off in convenience.

I bought this heart rate monitor as a way to fine tune the measurement of calories burned while using my rower. It pairs quickly to my equipment and gives me accurate and immediate heart rate and calories burned right on the display of my exercise equipment!!! Great motivator to push myself to my limits!

great monitor connects well to my samsung s5. its very accurate and helps me keep my heart rate in the zone during workouts. also make sure your watch, phone, or heart rate device is compatible with this chest strap because it uses ant + connection not bluetooth.

I bought this heart rate monitor for my wife and she loves it. It syncs with her watch and she is able to track her heart rate while running. The best part was we found it on sale at best buy cheaper than anywhere else.

Easy to use and stays in place well, have had monitor straps that would loosen up or work their way down during a workout, not this one. Haven't had any issues with this registering the heart rate, would recommend

I bought this for my daughter and it worked but it was too big on her and didn't give an accurate reading because it didn't fit snug.

I bought this to work with my Garmin Edge 510. It was easy to pair and works great with my device. This is a replacement for the HRM that came with my device originally.

I bought this Garmin HR Chest strap to use while cycling with the free Samsung S Health app on the S7 Edge, unlike a few other popular finess apps that require paid accounts to view live HR data. It pairs easily and quickly with the app and helps me maintain my cardio HR zone and provide more accurate calories burned calculations. The strap has a "hook" to easily put on and remove around your chest. Disconnecting the sensor from the strap after each use will save battery life but luckily CR2032 batteries are inexpensive when bought online. Even though I already had a MSFT smartband 2 that also track Heart Rate, I feel the chest strap has more accurate readings for my workout types. If

It works and pairs nicely with the Garmin Vivosmart. Took me a couple times to figure out how to pair the two, but it does just fine once you've got that down pat. To pair the two, you don't pair them like you do to the phone. You go into the heart rate setting on your Vivosmart and they connect automatically.

After going thru 2 versions of Garmin and a Polar HRM&strap, this one finally works! I had been fed up with intermittent and erroneous heart rates, and no matter what I did (wet the pads, use electrode gel, etc.) there always would be crazy readings of 22 and even 222. This one worked fine right from the start. What's the difference between them all? This one has a shielding layer which mitigates the static electricity and interference that seemed to upset the other straps. It also has a 'polarity' - where you have the Right and Left side indicated as well as the shielding layer making contact to the skin. Garmin recommends to remove the transmitter module and wash in a regular washing machine after 7 uses, it would appear that a build up of sweat 'shorts out' the sensor pads and machine washing cleans up the salty sweat.

Chest heartrate monitor more accurate than wrist.

This chest strap is to be used in tandem with a Garmin wrist fitness watch, sold separately at BEST BUY. Most modern fitness watches are designed to be used WITHOUT a chest strap monitor, which is a shame, because the chest strap will measure your heartrate much more precisely and consistently than wearing a watch alone, which takes your pulse at your wrist. To use, you first wet the strap under running water so the electrodes get wet, then you fasten the strap around your chest, just under breast level. Then you snap in the special widget, that sends your data to your watch, right over your solar plexus region. Start your watch and go for your run. After exercise, rinse the strap and electrodes clean. The strap and watch combination are great adjuncts for my exercise regimen.

I have the Garmin Fenix 5S watch but my heart rate was not accurately measured during runs. By using this heart rate monitor I now know exactly what my heart rate is during my workouts. Easy to pair with the watch and comfortable to wear during most activities. I do get a little chafing during long, hot runs but that can be addressed by using a "glide" product.

So, I jumped on the fitness band(wagon) because I needed something to help get me off my rear end. I chose the Vivofit because I didn't have to remember to recharge it, and it was water resistant. All in all, I'm pretty happy with it. I especially like the heart rate monitor which has helped provide information as to the intensity of my workouts. What I don't like? THE CHEAP WRISTBAND!!!! First off, it is difficult to snap the latch. I work with my hands all day long and have excellent manual dexterity, but the snapping mechanism is simply awful in design. In addition, it is very flimsy. I have had the band detach carrying a bag of mulch; playing with my son. and even simply taking a swing with a golf club. The last episode worries me a little because I didn't even know the Vivofit had come off - a guy playing in my foursome just happened to see it lying in the grass.

Thank you for your review. We're glad to hear you're pretty happy with the device, though I would like to address the issue you've had with the band. We certainly don't want to hear that it's falling off so easily, or that it's actually lost.
Since this review has been posted under the Garmin Heart Rate Monitor, I'm unsure of whether you have the vívofit, or vívofit 2. Assuming it's the vívofit, are you using the band keeper that comes with the device? I ask because some do not notice the keeper in the packaging, or disregard it.
The keeper is a small loop designed to fit over both ends of the band and the clasp. It helps keep the band attached. Please see the picture and instructions including in the full owner's manual at the following link: http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/vivofit/EN-US/GUID-43340E47-6657-427F-A730-DE47641FA3C2.html

If you are using this, it may have become worn, and is not fitting properly. Please reach our to our Support team at www.garmin.com/us/support. We'd be happy to help, and can even send a replacement, if necessary.

We appreciate your feedback. *CG Garmin
