QuestionIf the battery goes bad over time, is it replaceable? Like smartphones, batteries go bad over time. If the watch works great but the battery goes, how do I replace the battery and not the entire watch? Thanks.

QuestionIs this watch compatible with apps requiring wear OS or Android wear 1.4 and above? I would like to connect this to the OneWheel app.

- Answer No..., it is not compatible with Wear OS. It is a Garmin OS system. The Garmin IQ app is the Garmin app store for most Garmin devices. I have not seen an app in the Garmin app store that is compatible with this Rugged Garmin Instinct smartwatch yet. But if you are going to be in the wild for many many days and wanting a smartwatch..., then this is the smartwatch to have because of it's exceptional battery life. As Garmin says..., "It is a smartwatch not like other smartwatches"... Enjoy!!!

- Answer You can not on this model. While this is a great running watch (overall a great watch for active lifestyle) it does not hold music. If that is an important feature, I would say go with the forerunner music line.

You can customize messages in the Garmin Connect™ Mobile app. Replying to a Message > From the watch face, select UP to view the notifications widget > Press Enter > Select a text message notification to respond to > Press DOWN > Select Reply > Select a quick message from the list > Your phone sends the selected message as an SMS text message. This feature is available only for smartphones with Android™. This feature sends text messages using your phone. Regular text message limits and charges from your carrier and phone plan may apply. - Answer No, unfortunately this watch doesn't support Strava directly. What it does allow is the transfer of workouts through the Garmin Connect app though. When you sync your watch to the app, you can have it set up to automatically upload your workouts to Strava. The Strava website has instructions on how to set this up if you google "Garmin Instinct Strava". Hope this helps!

QuestionIs this garmim a good to track open water swimming? I would like recommendations to each garmim is best for open water (ocean) swimming. Thank you!

- Answer It is waterproof and would be fine in the ocean and it has a very good GPS unit that works automatically in swimming mode -- so I don't see why it wouldn't work in open water. It will use GPS to get your location to within a few feet, and is more accurate than other watches that don't use GPS. I do know that GPS does use a lot of battery life, and you'll need to charge it more often. I think (but don't recall) that you'll get about 8 hours of constant GPS tracking with a full charge.

QuestionI am interested in using this Watch for open ocean SUP Paddling, to track distance and pace, but I do not want to carry my smart phone with me. Can it be programmed and be ready to use? Would I need wireless wi-fi to program it? I am not very tech savvy.

- Answer Yes. Built in and constantly monitors heart rate. Works both outside of wrist and inside of wrist.

- Answer Unless the Garmin took features away when they added solar panels to the watch, I have absolutely pulled mgrs from the instinct and was able to switch between many GPS location formats.
