The Instinct Solar has a water rating of 10 ATM. It withstands pressures equivalent to a depth of 100 meters and is suitable for splashes, rain or snow, showering, swimming, diving into water, snorkeling, high-speed water sports. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I work outdoors in the forest and it gets wet and muddy sometimes. It's held up fantastic for 2 years. One of the retaining straps is starting to tear but that is only because I snagged/caught it on something a few weeks ago... I believe there is some sort of shock resistance and rating that they've got listed on their website. I work in wildland fire, which can be intense, and I've had no problem. I think of it like a classic Timex (Takes a lickin and keeps on tickin). I don't ever feel like I need to treat this differently than a normal watch... Versus the many expensive and fragile "smart watches" that are out there.
