Yes, it does. Older nüvi (and StreetPilot) models used a resistive touchscreen, which required pressure to detect your touch. This nüvi (and most other current models) uses a capactitive touchscreen, which works like modern smartphone displays. Instead of detecting pressure, it detects your touch. This means it should be able to detect your touch easily with hard presses, but it does mean that it won't detect your touch if you're wearing gloves unless you are wearing gloves specifically designed for use with touchscreens. -JPK
