“Which is better? I had a Garmin nuvi 2557LMT which went south traffic info wise. I then got a Tom Tom that got so many bad reviews, I didn't even open the box, and got the 2555. All rave reviews. I tried it for the first time today, and it gave me conflicting info on a very important interchange. Naturally, I chose the wrong one, and ended up in horrible traffic which it didn't even warn me about. Did I not register the 2557 correctly and or is the 2555 and 2557 a suck egg unit? It's going back tomorrow.”

I have the 2557 for almost a year. I have traveled around San Antonio with no problems. I love the magnified interchange view. I have travel from San Antonio to Biloxi, Mi with no problems. That is over 600 miles. I recommend the 2557 with no reservations.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.In my experience traffic has been a GREAT help on the 2557. You do have to be in an area where traffic reporting is provided . I do not have the direct link but Garmin has a map of available traffic reporting cities. Mostly large metro cities. As for the maps I would advice updating it first thing upon receiving it. No big deal takes about 30 mins. on 10 Mbps connection. I do suggest buying a 4 gb or 8gb micro sd card for them or complaining to garmin. (they'll send you one) The memory fills up fast when doing multiple map updates, which is every 4 months or so they issue out.
