• I actually bought this unit based on the answers given to this question because I wanted a GPS that would give directions through my car speakers. This product DOES NOT pair with a car's sound system. In fact, NO Garmin GPS units will pair with a car...if you go to their website that is stated on their tech support FAQs page.

• No, the nüvi 2589LMT does not support transmitting audio over Bluetooth. You may want to look into the StreetPilot app for doing this. Thanks! -OA

• It couldn't be paired with my Audi...says the bluetooth connection is incompatible. Inexcusable for a GPS designed to be used in any car not to be able to connect...all phones can, so why not Garmin products?

• Yes, the Bluetooth will connect with your car and work through your speakers.
