The nüvi 2597LMT will still work without utilizing the Bluetooth feature. However it will allow you to connect a compatible smartphone to the device and utilize the Smartphone Link app from a compatible smartphone to use features such as Address Sharing, Weather, Dynamic Parking, and Last Mile.
