Q: Does the traffic cable come with the device?
A: Yes. the traffic cord is included with your purchase.
Q: Can this be used right out of the box?
A: It CAN be used right out of the box, as when I opened it the battery was about 1/4 charged. They do however recommend that you install the latest USA map and device updates which took me roughly 90 minutes through my pc's usb port using the enclosed cable. You would want to charge it before using it extensively, by using the included charging cable that plugs into the 12 volt cigarette lighter charging ports in your vehicle. There are no replaceable/disposable batteries in it that I can tell.
Q: will this Garmin charge while you use it?
A: Yes, the device charges when plugged into the car and while in use.
Q: what is a MicroSD card used for and do we need it?
A: A MicroSD card is a type of removable external media that can store files, etc you do not want on the device's internal storage. Unless you feel your device's internal storage will be exceeded by your use of it, no, it is not necessary.
Q: does the bluetooth use your mobile data plan
A: The Bluetooth technology itself will not use the plan, but if want to use some of the Smartphone Link features, some would use the plan.
Q: Can I speak an address and it will come on just from my voice?
A: I will be happy to assist you with your voice command question.
The voice command feature will not bring the nüvi out of hibernation mode. You will first need to power the nüvi on, then you may use your voice command phrase to activate the feature.

A: Yes it can track your travel. Once the memory is full it will start erasing previous tracks.
Q: Is power cable compatible for older vehicles cig lighter
A: Yes, all vehicle cigarette lighters work the same as today's vehicle 12v accessory outlets.
