“Does anyone recommend the extended warranty? I'd like to keep the Garmin that I will purchase for a few years. Is purchasing the extended warranty really necessary? Are they that fragile?”

I purchased the extended warranty several years ago when I purchased my first GARMIN which was a NUVI 2505 Series. My GARMIN broke down and stopped functioning for me two weeks before the extended warranty was up. I went to best buy and they replaced my old GARMIN with a NUVI 2689 LMT. It was worth it for me!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.These are definitely not fragile. The front seems to be tempered glass, so scratching is unlikely. I keep mine in a super hot black SUV, on the dash. That usually kills batteries and displays, but mine is a year old and works like day 1.
