• No it doesn't. I use mine daily with no WiFi or Internet.

• As the nüvi 57LM uses satellites to determine your position, an internet connection is only required for updating the mapping, system software, and adding additional content. ^DK

• This Garmin gps does not require an Internet connection while being used. In order to update the maps or software, you will need a computer with Internet.
