“Many GPS units require a micro sd card to hold all the map updates. Is that the case with this Garmin? If so what is the best size to get? Thank you”

The device will work out of the box without adding a micro SD card. However as future map updates are released they may have so much new information that it won’t fit on the device's internal memory, at that point a micro SD card can be used to expand the memory. This model supports microSD cards from 8 GB to 32 GB, with speed ratings up to class 10 (including unmarked cards).

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It holds all the maps that I am currently interested in (US, CANADA). As to the sd card, they are so cheap, I would get the one with the greatest capacity. Just make sure you get the adapter for use with a regular computer reader.
