• it does not have a rechargeable battery, and it doesn't use your phone data as it has its own GPS receiver.

• The Garmin Speak Plus does not have an internal battery and must be connected to power in the vehicle to operate. while Garmin Speak includes built in GPS, it also relies on your phone’s data connection to search for locations and to start a route.
