• I'm not sure; I can tell you this: I have an older Garmin which needed the power cord (via cigarette lighter) and my Garmin is working as it is new. It was just updated a month before I purchased a new Prius (which does not have an inbuilt GPS) and I am pleased. In fact, I would recommend that you try it. I have discovered that I am glad that my car does not have the inbuilt GPS because my old Garmin is much more clear in its instructions and it gives me ample leeway so I can make the necessary lane changes before I have to exit one road for another. On a bush, speedy highway, the extra leeway is a blessing. Keep your Garmin at all costs. Have Best Buy look for something that makes it work for you. With the right Geek (as I found in our local store) I got this power cord and it is wonderful!
