• It has settings where you can set it to monitor your heart rate but it does eat away at the battery life a bit faster but the battery life is very good. You can turn on a constant monitor and shut it off when you want to.

• The device will monitor heart rate 24/7, however, you can only set up target heart rate zones for running and cycling activities. Debbie with Garmin
