Kimmie23, the vívoactive HR device can be used for training indoors, such as running on an indoor track or using a stationary bike. You will need to turn off the GPS for indoor activities. When running or walking with GPS turned off, speed, distance, and cadence are calculated using the accelerometer in the device. The accelerometer is self-calibrating. The accuracy of the speed, distance, and cadence data improves after a few outdoor runs or walks using GPS. You can find more information on the manual: http://bit.ly/1rkZ5MD and If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact our support team (www.garmin.com/support). Thank you. ~QKO
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think if you can get the watch calibrated correctly, it would be a big help. So far the distance has never matched what the treadmill distance shows, but still working on that.
