It appears that it will track your steps while in your pocket. From my understanding, the devices uses multiple actions to determine steps count: like hand motion, the up/down motion while walking, etc.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ive noticed you need to have your arms moving to get steps to count if I'm pushing stroller, grocery basket, or holding not all steps register. But it is a great watch/ fitness tracker and does help motivate you to move and bonus it is water proof. I have gone tubing, Swimming, and works great.
