Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Great question! Glad we are able to provide this information. The vivofit Health & Fitness Tracker is primarily used to track the number of steps you take on a daily basis as well as encourage you to improve your wellness by providing features such as personalized daily goals and an inactivity meter. Garmin Activity Trackers have sensors that are designed to detect natural movement like walking or running. The vivofit would be able to show you Heart Rate data with a Heart Rate Monitor worn during Biking however the vivoactive is designed with a variety of profiles, including Biking. This model and the vivofit 2 include a backlight. ~QKO
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will record your HRM assuming you have the strap but the pedometer will give you inaccurate results. I think the accelerator does not record biking movements well. This has been true when I have run and biked during the same workout.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it has an option for it. The battery last for seven days for those long rides.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. When using a step tracker of any brand on a bike or an elliptical strider without arms, put the band in your pocket! Your legs are moving, but your arms are not. Heart rate function should work just fine. I don't think a back lite is in the works, and it is not visible in the dark. Take a tiny flashlight.
