Hi April - The microwave has Cooking Complete Reminder feature. This is a beep that occurs once every minute after the normal cooking cycle has ended. It is designed to remind you when the cooking time has completed. Begins 1 minute after the "Cooking Complete Signal". This is different from the "Cooking Complete Signal" which is 4 beeps heard only once and directly at the end of the cooking cycle. To terminate 'cooking complete reminder', touch Clear/Off or open the door. Also, this model has Sound On/Off option. Press SOUND pad for mute or normal. Thanks for your interest! Sue

It chimes more than once but will then stop before you open the door. Someone else here said you can mute the beep but I just bought this and don't see that feature mentioned anywhere, which is too bad because the beep is fairly loud and obnoxious
