• I don't know about turning off turn table. Yes, can be removed.

• Hi bob85, thanks for reaching out! In the operation safety section of your manual, it states: Do not operate the oven without the turntable in place. The turntable must be unrestricted so it can turn. We hope that this is helpful! Stay safe. -Michael
