“When the dimension specifications say 17.68" for the depth, does that include the piece that usually protrudes from the back of microwaves? My shelf is 18" deep. Thanks”

Hi Karen- Yes, the overall depth of the unit is 17 11/16". We also offer GE® 1.1 Cu. Ft. Capacity Countertop Microwave Oven JES1145SHSS. It is 15 5/8" deep (20 5/16"W x 12"H x 15 5/8"D). We suggest 1" air clearance in the rear, 3" on both sides and top. Keep in touch! SUEatGEA
