Q: QuestionMy GE Spacemaker Model JVM1441WH03 is malfunctioning. I would like to replace it with another GE Microwave. Can you advise me of some choices?
Asked by captgeb.
- A:Answer Hello Captgeb - this is Nancy at GE. We're sorry to hear that your microwave is not working properly and I am happy to help you with a great replacement model. The good news is that all of our 30" Spacemaker over-the-range microwaves are designed to be installed in the same standard upper cabinet space (30" min. width, 12" min.-13" max. depth, 66" min. mounting height). The height and depth of the models may vary slightly, but any of our new models could work in your current space. A model that you may like is the JVM6175DFWW. You will need to use the mounting brackets and hardware that come with the new microwave. The mounting kits have changed over the years and are not interchangeable. I hope this information is helpful! Thanks for checking with us!

Q: QuestionUsung the recirculating venting system how convenient to change filter
Asked by Gourmet.
- A:Answer Changing the filter is convenient. To remove the charcoal filter, first disconnect power at the main fuse or circuit breaker, or pull the plug. Remove the top grille by removing only the two screws that hold it in place, as shown. The cabinet doors may need to be opened to remove the screws. Press back on the top of the filter with both hands until the filter lays down almost horizontal. Lift the filter at the bottom until it comes free of the tabs. Slide the filter down and out. To install a new charcoal filter, remove plastic and other outer wrapping from the new filter. Insert the top of the filter up and into the grooves on both sides of the inside of the top opening. Once the bottom tab is cleared, push the bottom of the filter in until it rests in place vertically behind the tab.

Q: Questionwhat does the red light on RESET FILTER mean?
Asked by Anonymous.
This question was asked about the related product: GE - 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave with Convenience Cooking Controls - Stainless Steel
- A:Answer The Reset Filter message is a timed reminder designed to prompt you to change the charcoal filter. It will illuminate approximately every six months. This feature does not detect when the filter is actually dirty; it operates on a preset timer. The charcoal filter typically needs to be replaced every 6–12 months. After the filter has been changed, if applicable, place your finger over the words “Reset Filter” and press and hold for 3 seconds. The indicator light will then reset and turn off. If the light remains on after doing this, disconnect power to the microwave for a minute or two by unplugging it or switching off the circuit breaker. Then restore power and check whether the indicator has reset. If your microwave is vented externally, a charcoal filter is not required, and you can simply reset the indicator light. If a new filter is needed, the part number is WB02X35687. Please check with Best Buy regarding availability. If it is not available there, it can be purchased through our parts team at 1-877-959-8688. To review information on how to change the charcoal filter, please see page 17 of the User Manual for this model by visiting the product page, clicking the “Features” tab, and navigating to the “Manuals & Guides” section.
