I had a similar issue which turned out to be the door being warped from heat off the stove just enough not to be able to activate the switch at the door
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi pdkt - Thanks for reaching out to us regarding your GE convection microwave. The microwave would not work (light, fan , timer, etc.) if the fuse was bad. If the microwave runs but is not heating, it could be one of many components. Make sure the “Timer” function was not inadvertently used. Check to ensure the door is closed firmly. Close it firmly, but do not slam. This confirms the engagement of the door's safety mechanisms. Make sure the turntable is not turned off. Press Turntable ON/OFF pad. Reset the electronics by unplugging or by turning off power at the circuit breaker for 30 seconds or so. For safety reasons, we offer no do-it-yourself repair advice on microwave ovens due to an internal high voltage capacitor (can hold a high voltage charge even after it has been unplugged). Special equipment is generally needed to make a diagnosis. If the above suggestions do not solve the problem and the microwave still won't heat, we recommend to schedule an appointment with GE Appliances Factory Service at GEAppliances.com/service or call 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737). Also, the current model is GE Profile™ Series 1.7 Cu. Ft. Convection Over-the-Range Microwave Oven PVM9179SKSS. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com - We are always eager to help! Sue
