Hi there, We're glad to answer your question. It is recommended to have at minimum 30" from the top of the stove to the bottom of the cabinet. The microwave have a height of 16 5/6". If you subtract the 30 from the 16 5/6, then at minimum the distance from the bottom of the microwave to the stove will be 13 1/6". Depending on your setup it could be different. We hope this helps. But the distance for your microwave will depend on the recessed area where you will hang your microwave, by where the cabinet or vent hood is placed and how much wiggle room you have in that space. That ultimately determines the distance to your cooktop surface for your installation. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.In my case the distance is 18 inches. It may be different in your case due to the height of your hanging cabinet. The height of the microwave is 15 inches. Measure the distance from the bottom of your hanging cabinet to the top of your stove then subtract the 15 inches from that measurement to get the distance that you are looking for.
