Hi gringochic - The operating temperature of chest and upright freezers, including smaller, compact models is -5 to +6 degrees. It is designed for food storage. There are many factors that contribute to the volume of food that your freezer will hold including the physical size and shape of each item. In general, a freezer will hold 30 to 35 pounds per cubic foot. Thanks for viewing GE! Sue
