Hello. We appreciate your interest in this frost-free freezer, and are happy to advise about the defrosting process. This unit is listed as frost-free because it is set up to defrost automatically; our models do so on either a time-based system or usage-based system. The system will activate what we refer to as a defrost heater in the evaporator section at the rear of the freezer. This heater will then melt any accumulated frost off the evaporator coils.
