Hi there, we appreciate you reaching out to us and we're sorry your refrigerator doesn't seem to be cooling as it should. We know this is concerning and we're happy to help. The refrigerator operates at a specific temperature range 34-42 degrees Fahrenheit in the refrigerator section and between -5 and +8 degrees Fahrenheit in the freezer section. We recommend setting it at 3 and then after 24 hours adjusting the temperature control to suit your personal preferences. The individual settings 1-5 actually do not directly correlate to a specific temperature. If you're feeling as if your refrigerator isn't cooling well, we recommend the following tips: 1) Adjust the temperature. 2) Make sure that both the refrigerator and freezer contain a reasonable food load. 3) Make sure refrigerator and freezer doors can close and can properly seal. 4) Verify that the refrigerator has proper air clearance. 5) Make sure large containers are not placed against the back wall of the refrigerator. If the issue still occurs, we recommend scheduling service with a certified GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your appliance. You can do so by calling GE Appliance Service at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737). All the best. - GW
