This portable air conditioner is listed as 120 volts, 8.0 cooling amps, 770 cooling watts. We recommend it be protected by a 15- or 20- amp time-delayed fuse or breaker. This unit comes with a three-pronged power cord and must be plugged into a three-pronged grounded outlet. -Vikki@GEAppliances
