“Thinking about getting this microwave to replace GE JEB1860SM2SS. It looks like both has pretty much same dimensions. Can I use the trim kit I have for the current microwave. The current one also says countertop. It came with the house and is built in.”

I know this is too late for you but for people buying one in 2023 this may help. My JE1860BH purchased in 2004 with Trim Kit JX1830 needed replacing. I bought the GE JES2051DN5BB and was able to use the old trim kit without any adjustments.

A built-in capable microwave will list the 27" and 30" trim kit for that model in the product specifications. Also, the built-in trim kits are not interchangeable. A trim kit consists of the trim frame, as well as an upper, lower, and rear duct that attaches to and encases the microwave inside the cabinet cut-out. It is important to only use the trim kit designed for that model. We suggest to view our GE PROFILE™ SERIES 2.2 CU. FT. COUNTERTOP MICROWAVE OVEN PEB7226SFSS and OPTIONAL 27" BUILT-IN TRIM KIT JX7227SFSS or OPTIONAL 30" BUILT-IN TRIM KIT JX7230SFSS. The only difference between the 27" and 30" trim kit is the trim frame. If the microwave is installed over a 27" or 30" wall oven, be sure to match the trim kit width to the oven.
