I wrote this guestion a month ago. I put my finger on the back of the microwave when it was running and pushed on a screw, the noise stoped. So I took out the screw and put a longer one in and it hasn’t made any noise since.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is as loud as any other large microwave. I have always had the larger one. This doesn't appear any louder than the old one I replaced. But I'm not sitting in the kitchen with it.

Make sure the microwave is sitting on a level surface and allow 3" of clearance on both sides and the top and 1" clearance in the rear. Microwaves need adequate air clearance to function properly. This allows good circulation for the intake and discharge air vents. You may hear a dull thumping sound while oven is operating as the magnetron tube cycles on and off. It is normal to hear clicks or relays after starting the cycle. You will also hear them after pressing Start but before the unit actually starts running. We suggest to take advantage of the exchange policy. Keep in touch! SUE@GEA
