“I had to replace our built in microwave model JE2160SF03 with a new microwave GE model number JES2051SN4SS. I’m reading that trim kits are not interchangeable even though the sizes of both these microwaves are very close. What trim kit should I buy?”

Hi Sycmcgees- We certainly appreciate your loyalty. JES2051SN4SS is intended for countertop use and is not compatible with a trim kit. Also, trim kits are not interchangeable. A trim kit consists of the trim frame, as well as ducts that encase and attach to the microwave inside the cabinet cut-out. It is important to only use the trim kit designed for that model. A comparable model is our GE Profile™ Series 2.2 Cu. Ft. Built-In Sensor Microwave Oven PEB7227SLSS. It is compatible with GE® Required 27" Built-In Trim Kit JX7227SLSS and GE® Required 30" Built-In Trim Kit JX7230SLSS.
