Maybe it's normal because mine is noisy also. I'm gonna try a rubber mat under it but doubt it will help. Nice microwave otherwise.

As indicated on page 32 of the Owner's Manual at the following link, you may hear a dull thumping sound while oven is operating and change in the blower sound at power levels other than high: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-40582-1.pdf - Fan bearing noise will occur if the microwave is operated in temperatures below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure the microwave is placed on a level surface. See the following link: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=15900 - If the unit is arcing, see the following link: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17875 - Any other sounds may require a technician for diagnosis. You can contact GE Appliance Service at 1-800-432-2737 for assistance or conveniently schedule an appointment online: http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/service/ - Thanks for reaching out to us!
