“My shelf is only 18 inches deep. Where are the feet placed on the bottom ( 2 inches in would be fine if it over laps 1 1/4 inches. How much air space for back (flushed against back wall) ok?”

It should fit fine. My shelf is 16.5 inches deep and it fits well. There is a little sticking out but all four feet are on the shelf.
