Hi LL - This model has auto-load sensing which means the washer will automatically measure the load size and add just the right amount of water need for the particular load. This is a water saving feature and additional water cannot be added. GE Appliances washer models meet or exceed the latest energy and water efficiency requirements. Therefore, fills with less water than prior models. GE Appliances washers are designed for and are thoroughly tested using modern water levels and provide exceptional cleaning. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Water levels on all cycles except “ bulky” do not even come close to covering your clothes with water. I’m all about saving water, but in order to have your clothes all wet, you have to use the “ bulky” cycle. Just the world we now live in. Gone are the days of a TRUE washing machine. And the agitator is limp. I would have bought a different model had I had the space, this is the only unit I found that fit my space with their so- called agitator.
